SUCCESSFUL PROTOTYPE POUR
Many of you know that Keith
and Julie, Jim Laychak and Rosemary Dillard, and
Mark and I went out to St. Louis last week for the casting of the first
Memorial Unit prototype.
We are happy to report that it went just about as well as it could possibly
have gone. MetalTek International did a great job, and it was apparent
that
all of the hard work that went into translating the model; configuring
the
pour; and creating and assembling the pattern and the mold really paid
off.
As you can see in the attached photograph, our "team" is ever
expanding as
fund raising progress enables our work to continue.
This is a major milestone for the Pentagon Memorial
Design/Build- please
celebrate and share the good news. There are links to articles from
DC and
St. Louis below. In addition, the Pentagon Memorial Fund's website
(http://www.pentagonmemorial.net/site/PageServer)
is updated each month,
and an electronic newsletter is sent to those who register on the site.
If you have not yet done so, sign up, and check
out the
"Tell-A-Friend" feature as well.
